He is one of the most popular Greek painters.
Zimatikas Andreas was born in 1949 in Nigrita Serres. Manolis Dragogias and Kostas Lustas were his main teachers. His work was influenced from the old architecture of Macedonia, Greece having as main themes traditional houses.
His work could be divided in the following:
• Traditional houses and landscapes in Pelion.
• Landscapes of Thassos.
• Traditional houses of Macedonia.
• Greek seascape.
The technical process and the materials used are plaster, slate, sand, lime, watercolor and pen enamels, which formed his personal style.
