Marinos Lianakis was born in 1946 in Heraklion, Crete. He lived and worked for a while in Paris where he became acquainted with the main currents of contemporary painting. Realism, surrealism, expressionism and cubism, conquered him from time to time.
In 1976, he presented for the first time his work in the Foyer of the Municipal Theater of Piraeus. He presented his second solo exhibition in 1978 in Athens at the gallery -O – a series of works using the method of Pointillism. The same exhibition was transferred to France at the “Le Center d’ Aix-en-Provence”. In total, he presented his work in ten solo exhibitions.
